The American Airlines AAdvantage Mile up credit card allows users to earn miles at a faster rate than usual for an airline card, thanks to its bonus on grocery store purchases. While most airline cards only offer bonus miles on purchases made directly with the airline, the card offers 2x miles on eligible American Airlines purchases and grocery purchases and 1 mile per dollar in other purchases.
For the grocery store category, eligible locations includes; supermarket, bakeries, and convenience stores. Purchases at superstores or warehouse stores like Walmart or Costco do not qualify nor do purchases at cafes or fast food restaurants.
There’s no limit to how many miles you can earn your Mike’s will not expire as long as you earn or redeem miles on American airlines or a partner airlines at least once in 18months.
To get more value out of this card, you maybe better off with a higher tier American airlines card as long as you can swing the bigger spending requirement and annual fee.
However, the American Airlines AAdvantage Mile up credit card offers a modest bonus of 10000 Mike’s and a $50 statement credit if you spend $500 in the first 3months while there are much more impressive signup bonus to be found, the mile up card at least rewards it to you with a very modest spending threshold and no annual fee.
